There are thousands of places to buy stuff from online. Who should you buy from? Are all places equivalent? This post outlines why all online shops are not the same, and why we think Amazon is the first place you should look to do all of your online purchases.
Here on Trending Gear, we only list products that can be found on Amazon. There are several reasons for this.
Quite often, I find that Amazon has the best prices available anywhere. I almost never have to buy an item at regular price. I regularly find exactly what I want on sale. With so many items listed and such a large base of sellers competing with each other, the buyer (you!) gets the best possible price.
Continuing what I said above about a large base of sellers, this means that there are hundreds of thousands of items available everyday. If you’re looking for something specific, you’ll often find a comparable item available from 10 different brands. This allows you to easily comparison shop and make sure you’re purchasing exactly what you need.
I have never had an issue with not receiving an item I ordered from Amazon. They also have excellent customer service.
Fast and Cheap Shipping
One of my biggest pains of online shopping is the extra cost of shipping. A lot of online stores add on an extra $10+ for shipping, which in the end, makes the online bargain, not so much of a deal anymore. Amazon has some of the best shipping rates available. Furthermore, because they sell so many different items, often you can make a big order of unrelated items and have them all shipped together at the same time – once again saving you on your shipping costs.
In addition to shipping costs, it’s shipping speed. I want my stuff right away and don’t want to wait 7-10 days for it. Amazon has most items shipped with 2 days! People have even noted that they sometimes receive the item the same day, or the very next day. How great is that?
Reviews, reviews, reviews. Because Amazon has such a large base of users, most items come with really helpful customer reviews and customer product photos. These are a great help when decide which item is the one that you want to buy.
